The guild handbook
Good company starts here.
Our rules, our people, and the little things that make playing together better.
Community rules
1. Be respectful. Treat all members with kindness. Harassment, hate speech, racism, sexism, and discriminatory language are not allowed.
2. No spamming. Avoid spamming messages, images, emojis, reactions, or links.
3. Represent the guild well. Be a positive representative of Shadows of Azeroth, including when interacting outside the guild.
4. No illegal content or activity. Do not share or discuss illegal activities, distribute pirated content, or post anything that violates Discord’s Terms of Service.
5. Report concerns. Report rule-breaking promptly to Arionn or an officer.
6. Follow Discord’s rules. Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply to everyone using our Discord server.
7. Use common sense. Rules cannot cover every situation. If something seems harmful or inappropriate, do not do it.
8. Use your main character’s name. Set your server nickname to your main character’s name when joining our Discord.
Raid rules
1. Sign up through Raid-Helper. Select Bench if you want to be a reserve and Tentative if you are unsure whether you can attend. If you cannot attend, we appreciate you marking Absence at least 30 minutes before the raid. If something comes up later, notify the Raid Leader.
2. Keep raid communications relevant. Keep the main raid channel focused on the raid. Use the designated text raid-chat or another appropriate channel for other conversation.
3. Attendance and accountability. Raid leadership maintains an internal “Naughty List” for arriving late or failing to attend without marking Absence or informing leadership, or leaving without a valid reason and/or without notifying leadership. Life happens; communication matters. Possible consequences include a temporary loot ban, a temporary raid ban, or a firm conversation with a Raid Leader or Arionn.
4. Respect raid leadership. Follow the Raid Leader’s instructions during the raid. Raise suggestions or disagreements respectfully through a private whisper rather than starting a public argument.
5. Join voice chat. Remain in the Discord raid voice channel throughout the raid. Stay quiet during boss explanations so that new players and others can hear.
6. Avoid disruptive toys. Do not use toy trains or other loud toys during raids, as they can interrupt explanations and cause discomfort for others.
7. Be ready early. Be ready 15 minutes before the scheduled start so leadership can organise the group and replace absent players.
